# How do you setup a mix?

Hi Tchad, Would you be willing to shed some light on how you approach setting up a mix? How do you route things? What tracks get grouped? Where do fx get routed? Etc. Always fascinating to see how people organize their sessions!

Very standard. In the video I think you can see it’s nothing fancy. Aux sends for most of my effects. Groups depend on the song and what I want to do with the instruments. I don’t use VCA groups. Drum buss, stereo buss, string buss if there’s strings…etc. I keep it all very simple.  
Probably because I spent so much time in the analog world on small consoles without any frills.
