# Kick/808/Bass - Mono/Stereo

My understanding is kicks/808s/bass will be recorded in mono, though they commonly get sent to a stereo buss track. However, I’ve seen videos (Teezio) which show individual kick/808/bass on a stereo track - their original individual track (before sent to stereo buss). As if they were recorded in stereo. Please explain.

At least the original 808 I had in my recording studio had only mono outputs of each drum kit, which seems legitimate since when you record in a spund booth a drum kit , you would do a final mix to stereo
