# Vocal EQ&Production - Mixing and Recording

Hey Anthony,  
Thanks for doing this.  
This video, your mixing and the song are amazing. I’ve been a big fan for a long time.  
I’ve never seen anyone use eq on a vocal like that, specifically the 100 boost. Is that specific to Rap vocals, or would you do the same for a natural sound when mixing an R&B or even rock singer. With digital I struggle to just get a natural sound, mostly for vocals. I can make things sound good, but it takes a lot of manipulation, whereas when I had a desk, it was pretty straight forward. Everything ends up sounding very produced, and in my opinion missing emotion. I loved the singers and how they were tracked and mixed, (and performances) on this album so I was hoping you could give some insight.  
Do you know what was added EQ-wise vocals during tracking?  
Have your mixing methods changed much with changes in plugins and the rest of the recording/mixing technology?
