Hey Dan, loved the video! I could definitely relate to your view on work-life balance. My question for you is what does a day look like in the studio working with an artist? I would love to know if you have any schedule to keep you and the artist on track!
Thank you!
Now that I have a kid, I usually try to stick to a 10-6 schedule. Most days I come in and work for a few hours by myself (mainly on production ideas) then the artist will come in at 12 or 1. And we’ll work on a song. Sometimes that means me playing them some production ideas, getting feedback and then doing edits. Or if we are in the early stages of writing a song, the day could be making writing edits to the song, or writing a new song from scratch. It all depends. I’d say about half of my days I’m working with an artist, and then the other half I’m working alone.
