Hey Jon. Hope you and your loved ones are staying safe in LA. My question is about width. Do you have any helpful philosophies optimizing width? Are there tools you rely on the most? I sometimes struggle to know what sounds to widen, what to pan and what to keep mono. I know common practice is keeping low end in the center. But for music elements or vocals (bgvs, dbls specifically), I sometimes find it hard to be selective about what to maximize stereo information on and for it to not feel like I’m overcompensating sometimes. I know there’s not a one size fits all approach but curious about your philosophies on tools like modulation, mid/side processing or imagers and where/when you might chose to use those tools or not.
