Using externals hard drive to record and mix

Hello,

I would to like your advice about using externals hard drive to record and mix.

The internal drive of my computer is almost full.

I’m planning to buy an external drive.

I use ProTools Studio, my computer is a Mac Studio.

I understand that a SSD is the best option, right?

What is the minimum speed of the hard drive recommended?

Could you bring me the models of the SSD hard drive please?

Thank you.

Yes, a producer here. An SSD drive will suffice via thunderbolt. I use a SanDisk professionally…with 4TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD - Up to 2000MB/s.

I always use my built in SSD Hard Drive for sanity and no accidental lost of wire connection. But that’s just for my sanity, one less thing. Then I love the recoding to the SSD drive, and back it up in real time via the cloud.

Hello James,

Thank you so much for your reply
