When, Having that much low end how do you avoid the 808 compressing naturally the rest of the song
I start with the 808 and then mix everything in around that constantly monitoring the mix-bus thru the process. I also try my best to not have the mix-bus compressor do any of the heavy lifting. The kick and 808 relationship is something i spend a-lot of time on to where its not choking the mixbus… also side chain filters on ur compressors are a quick shortcut to avoid too much pumping.
