I was wondering. Is it the intention and ok to post our own attempts here before the song gets mixed by Chris Lord-Alge? (Sorry, I’m new 
) I could have a look otherwise and try to upload something today or tomorrow.
It’s the first time that I mix something from this genre. I’ve mostly done rock and metal before. But I had some time to try things so here’s my attempt up until now. Not mastered. Only the volume was changed.
It’s sounding great so far! Nice balance and cool verb on the snare in the chorus. Also dig the modulation FX on the rhythm guitar. Well done!
Thanks for the reply. That’s cool. I didn’t have enough time since I have to mix other songs “for real”. But I wanted to try this because I found it well produced/recorded and wondered what my attempt in an slightly unfamiliar genre (mixing wise) would lead to.
To me, the guitars worked better that way with my other choices so I tried a few different settings. I really liked those guitars and how they worked together with the synthesizers.
I’m curious how Chris will approach it (and slightly doubted if I would post since one of the best will work on it )
By the way, lots of atmospheric songs on your site and I read about Abbey Road etc. too.
