Greetings Sir Blake. Huge fan of your work. Thank you for allowing us to experience all these great songs through your sonic lens throughout the years.
My question for you is: do you ever work on a mix with the artist present in the room with you? If not, why not? And if so, how do you balance keeping the momentum of your own ideas with allowing room for theirs?
Thank you for your time. Sending good vibes your way.
At the very least, I like a few hours on my own chasing my undiluted ideas.
I’m improvising throughout a mix and I feel less confident when it’s being scrutinised in real time.
Vibe killer for me. That’s just my own insecurities.
In the end the artist’s choice is supreme. Doesn’t mean I have to agree with them and/or like it.
It’s great when we agree in collaboration.
That’s when it’s the most satisfying.
