Parallel EQ / Parallel Compression

Hi Chris!

Big fan of your ability to create energy & excitement in a mix! I have two questions:

First: In a few videos you’ve mentioned parallel instrument EQ that you’ll ride during a chorus to put something upfront in a mix. What frequencies do you generally boost for parallel EQ? I think somewhere I saw +3db at 3k and +6 at 8k.

Second: You once mentioned parallel drum compression in addition to your 33609 (I think on the SSL). If you find a mix needs addition parallel compression, how would you setup the SSL compressor?
