Remote Sessions. Is it the future?

Hey, does anybody have experience taking sessions remotely? What would be the best way to do that? I want to track an artist into my Protools, without having to be in the same location.

Also I’ve noticed a lot of people who are serious about their music do most of their recording at home and send over their STEMS. There are also artist who record their rough drafts at home and come re-record at the studio. Most artist have a laptop and a DAW, I was thinking maybe it would be a good idea to just record them form their home while I’m home/ at the studio? Just give them tips on how to treat their room, mic placement and equipment recommendations? I’m thinking this is the way to go for me.

I’ve seen a couple guys online take on recording sessions on GTA, I think that’s super powerful, considering who’s on GTA, and the access you have to people.

What are your thoughts?

Audiomovers seems to be the solution a lot of people use. I haven’t tried it yet because I’m mostly working with people in person, but I’m very curious to try it out if I want to get a lot more clients. It seems like you can put the plugin on the clients daw and your daw and then record into your daw and theirs at the same time. That way you can help them out over video too.
