Hello Tchad, as an admirer of your work for many years I am really thankful in the insight that you give here. As you often emphasize I learned that the sound comes from the ears not from settings. Said that, learning from techniques Pros like you use can help becoming a better Mixer. One thing I wondered for a long time is your use ov the waves SSl Bus compressor. It certainly sounds good, but to my ears the UAD version sounds better and most important has a high pass to the side chain, so it will not react so much to low-end. Is it a conscious decision of yours? You have massive lowend in your mixes, why wouldn’t you use a HP on the bus compressor? I am really interested in you thoughts on that. Thank you very much!
