hey, could you explain how you set up your vocal busses? i noticed in the just for the record videos (and also from billie eilish sessions) that you use a pretty similar chain on the vocals.
in the “don’t let go JFTR screenshot i saw you had:
– ozone imager
– ozone eq
– ozone spectral shaper
– gullfoss
– pro-l 2
– spectre
– pro-q 3
– neutron 3 transient shaper
but then in the billie session you’re using more like:
– soothe2
– pro-q 3
– oxford inflator / tape
– ozone vintage eq
– ozone imager (sometimes)
just wondering if you could break down why you choose those plugins, and what each one’s doing for the vocal sound? like, what’s the thinking behind it creatively and technically?
Like what are you using the imager for and what setting and why the limiter and why the spectral shaper and so on
And also what is your kind of eq go to to different between leads and BVG vocals?
ive seen you cut alot around 1k-2k and boosting like the 4-7k instead in the bvg? like how should you treat them differntly? BOTH fx and eq moves
