How do you approach loudness while mixing and how loud do you tend to provide listen copies of your mixes? How often do you rely on a mastering engineer to get where it should be level wise? Thank you!

I worry about the loudness once I feel like my balance is good without any final limiting. Then i’ll try to bring up the mix in level, massaging the mix into the limiter until it’s sitting at around -8.5LUFS ish - but this depends heavily on the song and contents.
