Loved your video here on MWTM! I’d like to pick your brain on that smooth vocal sound that you are so good at achieving. Obviously it starts with the source/artist and from there on, the recording chain etc (was it many times a c24 for Queen B?). But then we have the mixing too, whereas an over processed vocal immediately sounds small and thin, and a smooth, big/deep vocal comes from a few great decisions. It’s really an art to get there without losing presence. I bet this topic can be a never ending conversation, but I would be grateful to hear your thought process on this and of course what technical aspects you prefer in order to get there?
