Hey Dan.
First of all congratulations on Good Luck Babe, it’s the best pop song of the year and thank you for sharing your knowledge and insights with us here. It is truly invaluable.
To my question: I’m currently trying to get better at conveying specific emotions and learning how to reverse engineer emotions I hear and like in music. Understanding why a certain song makes me feel a certain way and what buttons to push (harmonic, sonic, etc) to recreate or enhance the emotion I want to convey and better complement the story/emotion of the topline. Do you have any word of advice, tips, insights or general approaches to share on the subject of understanding and getting better at portraying emotions in music?
