Hi, Jaycen.
- Could you explain your approach before mixing “who’s your client? where mix will play?”. I mean if I’m mixing Green Day’s song I should make is sounds like big stadium drums, in-your-face clear guitars and vocal or if I’m mixing Peter Gabriel I should make instruments sounds like landscape with vocals in front of it?
Do you categorize the sound of the mix depending on the artist and where the mix will be played? Like “this is oldschool rock artist and this mix will be for vinyl so I won’t do it with a lot of lows and highs and I will use a lot of tape saturation and LCR panning”.
I know all that things in our business look like very easy, but very hard when you try to explain it. - How do you build your mix-game plan? What steps does it include?
Regards, Vlad.
