Thanks for the videos. Quick question: what do you look for out of the SSL’s peak boost as opposed to the shelf? Obviously I understand the technical differences between the two, and I know it’s always as simple as “what sounds better,” but what about real-world scenarios? I remember you saying you prefer the peak for boosting HF on toms, for example. Is that because of the sharper apparent amplitude of the boost, or maybe it’s better for cymbal bleed? Any other regular scenarios come to mind where you prefer the peak boost, and why?
