This is my submission of an unreleased track (Blinded) that I’m hoping to release on my upcoming album. I produced, wrote and recorded the track, and did the rough mix. I’m in the mixing phase right now, and I love the way the rough mix feels, but would love to hear how a seasoned mix engineer would enhance it

My name is Josiah Shillow. I am a songwriter, learning mixing engineer, and music producer native to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
I am a versatile and results-driven individual with a diverse skill set. My work as a Lyrical and Melodic Composer have allowed me to collaborate on projects that achieve unique, powerful sounds by blending technical precision to create an impactful and impressive result. I have been practicing as a songwriter since eleven years of age, began playing acoustic guitar at the age of fourteen, and started my journey as a self-taught home studio producer in 2018.
I have been been a featured writer on Hiphop artist, Austin Lee’s EP, “Bayou LoverBoy”, and the mixing engineer for the band MADmoiselle’s 2025 single, “Uneasy” which was tracked and recorded by professional studio, Sockit Studios, and personally handled by Grammy winning producer, Devon KirkPatrick.
What you see listed below is my debut single track, “The Knife”. It’s the first song I’m preparing to have released since 2018. It is about my fiance and her perspective of the dealings with Mental Health and her struggles with Bi Polar Disorder.
I produced all of the sounds minus the orchestral strings and backing electric guitars on the track; I hired out professional musicians for those pieces.
I am struggling to get the vocal to sit properly but I want to pitch this song to sync libraries and have it placed in a major tv show or film.
I hope you love it and it speaks to you, as it did to me.
